The New Scotland Cemetery is adjacent to the New Scotland Presbyterian Church Cemetery and is accessed from New Scotland South Road. The New Scotland Cemetery Association came into existence in 1860, secured title to the main part of the present cemetery grounds from the Church in 1866 and most of the property by 1978. The current total is approximately 5.5 acres.
The cemetery is supervised by volunteer members of the community. Lots continue to be sold, and burials continue to take place here. Many descendants of New Scotland's founding fathers are buried here, as well as in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery, along with Revolutionary War soldiers and veterans of other wars.
Both the New Scotland Cemetery (cemetery ID #2828298) and the New Scotland Presbyterian Church Cemetery (cemetery ID #1965989) have listings in FindAGrave.com. Those searching for family memorials are encouraged to check both cemetery listings.
